VitaFlex Innovates Biosafety Hoods to Safeguard Emergency Responders in Biological/Chemical Warfare
The soft-stretch PPE - hoods to securely cover the head, face, and neck and effectively block corrosive powder and oil-based droplets

The inadequancy of PPE-hoods has continuously posed a significant challenge for emergency responders and healthcare workers during disasters (9/11, SARS outbreak, Ebola incident, and the recent Covid-19). Many of them suffered severe health issues or got infected by leaving their head and face exposed.
We have the technology to solve the problem. Our latex-free elastication technology transforms regular, stiff nonwovens into elastic fabrics while maintaining their breathability and barrier functionality. By using these elastic fabrics, PPE-hoods can be made form-fit which is what allows the isolation layer to be next to the skin creating an effective protective barrier.
VitaFlex's Soft-stretch Biosafety PPE-hoods were developed for protecting workers in handling biomedical waste and crime scene cleanup. They were also highly demanded for infection prevention during 2014 Ebloa outbreak and Covid-19 pandemic by helthcare systems including Walter Reed medical center, military hospital in Germany, and two VA medical centers.
For protecting emergency responders and military personnel, we have begaun developing an advanced version of our Biosafety hood which is critically needed for blcoking corrosive powder and oil-based droplets.
