Is AIRVAC 911® a FEMA “Fire Act” approved system?
Yes. The system is compliant under the FEMA Grant Program “Fire Operations and Firefighters Safety” Activity: Section c) Modifications to fire stations and facilities.
Can I amend my current FEMA Fire Act Grant to use the AIRVAC 911® System?
Yes. It is very easy to amend the grant. As a result, we can save you tens of thousands of dollars on a completely installed AIRVAC 911® System.
Is the AIRVAC 911® System affordable?
Yes. A complete system for your entire apparatus area costs 1/3 of a hose or canister system. We don’t have service contracts and our filters are low cost. Request a free proposal to learn how cost effective this solution is for your station.
Does the AIRVAC 911® System meet NFPA 1500- 9.1.6 / OSHA Guidelines?
Yes. AIRVAC 911® automatically removes gases and particulate 100% of the time and is more efficient over a 24-hour period than other products on the market. Important to note, our system removes the burst of engine exhaust that re-enters a station when vehicles leave. The system also addresses Hot-Zones and the off-gassing of primary and secondary equipment.
What is the Warranty on the AIRVAC 911® System?
There is a 5-year warranty on each AIRVAC 911® unit. Whether installed by an Air Vacuum Corporation Technician or “in house” by a contractor of your choice, this warranty still applies.
How efficient is the AIRVAC 911® System?
AIRVAC 911® protects 100% of your bay area by continuously and automatically monitoring your station to constantly remove hazardous contaminants. It is the only hoseless system with a 360-degree airflow design that pulls the air in from all directions to continuously eliminate exhaust dead spots and capture toxins in your station. Each AIRVAC 911® unit features a 4-stage filtration system with chemically treated carbon and activated carbon filters, including a MERV-16 rated filter that removes contaminant particles as small as 0.3 microns. By removing these hazardous contaminants, you create a clean “Breathing Zone” for your team. Alternative on-board filters and hose systems don’t capture all of these toxic gases and particles this small.
What makes the filter pack so efficient?
At the heart of our filtration system is the High Efficiency MERV-16 rated “HEPA MAX 3000” particulate air filter, which has been DOP tested with 0.3 micrometer-sized particles to have a minimum efficiency of up to 99.97%. This is combined with the “MULTISORB 3000” blended gas phase extractor. Plus, our 50/50 combination of respirator-grade activated carbon granules and potassium permanganate removes high- and low-weight molecular gases found within diesel exhaust. For example, VOC’s, hydrocarbons, benzene, octane, methanol, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, formaldehyde and more.
Installation: Is it a lengthy and costly process?
Installation is simple and does not require any building modifications, ducting or outside exhausting. The system is 100% self-contained and can be installed by our factory trained technicians or your local contractor. Units are ceiling hung and generally mounted between bays and at a height that eliminates any interference with vehicle movements.
What are the electrical requirements?
Units are equipped with a standard motor, 110/220 Volt, Single Phase, 60 Hz. Multiple options for electrical are available and can be customized to meet your needs. For example, Three-Phase, 230/460 Volt, 60/50 Hz.
How long will my filters last?
Filter life is dependent upon the activity level of the station (average number of runs per year) In some cases, the filter pack can last up to 2 years. We will give you an approximate filter life expectancy upon receiving your Request for a Free Proposal. A highly visible filter gauge on the unit indicates when the filters require replacement. No service contracts are required; anyone can change the filter.
Does the AIRVAC 911® System require ducting and exhaust to the outdoor environment?
No. Each unit is self-contained, it doesn’t require any ducting, hosing or outside exhausting. In fact, no building modifications are needed. As a result, there is no heating or cooling loss and no exhausting of polluted air to the outdoor environment. All of this is consistent with EPA guidelines, which prohibits dumping of pollutants.
What are the dimensions of the AIRVAC 911® unit?
Each unit has a cabinet that measures 26” wide x 25” deep x 29” high. The total height from the bottom of the unit to the top of the motor is 34” with an approximate weight of 190 lbs. All units hang from the ceiling and do not interfere with daily activity. We have designed the units to be compact so they don't obstruct station design or operations.
