Secure Headset Group Launches Major Upgrade to the S D200 Wireless Base for 911 Dispatch

The release introduces LiveSwap, which keeps a call live through a battery change and the new Features Management App

Wheeling - Illinois, June 12, 2026

For nearly four decades, SHG has supported mission-critical communications for the U.S. military, public safety dispatchers, and aviation professionals. The 2026 S D200 Wireless Base release reflects the company's dispatch first design philosophy and direct response to operational requirements identified by 911 communications directors and supervisors.

Highlights of the upgrade include:

LiveSwap. The S D200 keeps a call live through a battery change. Within a 30-second swap window, the dispatcher stays connected, and the caller never knows a battery was changed, eliminating the silence gap common in legacy wireless bases.

Features Management App. A companion software application that gives dispatch supervisors floor wide control over headset configuration. Includes pre-tuned configurations baselines for major dispatch radio platforms such as Motorola, L3 Harris, Intrado, Mindshare, Carbyne and more, macro speaker and microphone settings, narrow and wide bandwidth control, and beep, button, and lockdown administrative controls.

Conference mode. A second headset can join the S D200 without rewiring the position, enabling silent supervisor audits, training of new dispatchers, and call escalation without breaking the dispatcher's workflow.
Modular charging plates and battery feedback. Snap together charging plates scale to the size of any dispatch floor. A traffic light style battery indicator on the pistol grip and an on-demand voice prompt give dispatchers instant visibility into remaining battery life.

Security at Scale. The S D200 ships with DECT Security Step C, FIPS 140-2 listed 256-bit AES encryption, 128-bit AES authentication, and TAA compliance. Consistent with the security-first heritage SHG has built for the Department of Defense, all branches of the U.S. military, federal law enforcement, and defense contractors over forty years.
